Educational Visits
EHS maintain many historic monuments and country parks and countryside
centres throughout Northern Ireland. Many of these are open to the public all year round. Knowledgeable
and friendly staff are located at most of the sites, some providing guided tours. Experienced, qualified
teachers are on hand at our Country Parks to lead educational programmes specifically tailored to the
Revised Northern Ireland Curriculum. Educators offer educational programmes with a particular focus
on local habitats and ecosystems. Activities can be tailor-made to the requirements of each school.
In addition, two Educators are based at Historic Monuments (Carrickfergus Castle and Bellaghy Bawn)
offering programmes specifically focused on historical and archaeological themes.
For information about using EHS sites for Education Visits and details of the EHS Education Programmes available, a Guide has now been produced. This is updated every year in January and is currently sent out to every school in Northern Ireland. If you would like to download a copy of "A Guide to Education Visits and Use of EHS Sites" (pdf - 1.42 MB) click here.
